Fractional CTO · For founders

Senior technology leadership, sized for your stage.

I help non-technical founders turn ideas into technically sound, scalable software products — without the cost or commitment of hiring a full-time CTO.

The person you call to

  • Diagnose. An honest read on where your product, code and team stand today.
  • Decide. Architecture and stack decisions made deliberately — and documented.
  • Plan. A technology roadmap tied to your product and fundraising milestones.
  • De-risk. Security, scalability and vendor risk surfaced before they cost you.
  • Execute. Delivery led with your team, your agency — or one I bring.

Who it is for

You need a CTO's judgment before you need a full-time CTO.

Non-technical founders

You have the vision and the customers. You need someone who owns the technology side with you.

Pre-seed and seed startups

You need senior judgment now — before the first architecture decisions become expensive to undo.

Funded, without a technical co-founder

You have budget to build, but nobody senior to decide how.

Developers, but no technical leadership

The team ships, but nobody owns architecture, standards or the roadmap.

Working with an external agency

You want independent technical oversight of what is being built and what it costs.

Engagements

Four ways to work together.

Scope and pricing are agreed after a Technology Strategy Session, once we both understand the problem.

Fixed scope

Technology Strategy Sprint

A focused diagnosis of where your product and technology stand — and a clear plan for what to do next.

  • Startup technology assessment
  • Architecture direction with written decision records
  • Security baseline and production-readiness check
  • 90-day technology roadmap

Best for · Founders about to build, rebuild or raise.

Monthly retainer

Fractional CTO

Ongoing technical leadership: decisions, roadmap, team and vendor oversight, and a delivery rhythm you can trust.

  • Architecture and technical decision-making
  • Roadmap and delivery planning
  • Developer, hiring and agency oversight
  • Technical answers for investors and partners

Best for · Startups with a team or agency, but no senior technical leader.

Monthly retainer

Custom

CTO + Doimpo Execution Pod

Fractional CTO leadership plus a delivery team through Doimpo, for founders who need the product built, not just planned.

  • Fractional CTO leadership
  • Design and engineering delivery team
  • AI-native delivery workflow
  • One accountable point of contact

Best for · Founders without an in-house team who need to ship.

Why me

Product, design and engineering in one conversation.

  • 15+ years building software

Healthcare, fintech and SaaS — from first commits to enterprise scale.

  • Design and engineering in one head

UI/UX and visual design alongside architecture, so product decisions and technical decisions stay connected.

  • A product builder's mindset

I build and run my own products, so I think in users, outcomes and runway — not just tickets.

  • Architecture judgment

System design that fits your stage: simple enough to ship now, structured enough to scale later.

  • AI-native delivery

AI-assisted and agentic workflows used with guardrails — faster delivery without a messier codebase.

  • Leadership without writing every line

I lead technical decisions and teams, and stay hands-on enough to know when something is wrong.

Evidence

Decisions I have made — and what they led to.

Questions founders ask

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a full-time CTO yet?

Often not. Before product-market fit, most startups need senior technical judgment a few days a month — not a full-time executive salary. A fractional CTO covers decisions, roadmap and oversight until the role genuinely needs to be full time, and can help you hire that person when it does.

Will you write the code?

I lead the technical decisions, architecture and standards, and I stay hands-on enough to review work and prototype where it helps. Delivery is done by your developers, your agency, or a Doimpo execution pod.

We already work with an agency. Can you help?

Yes. Independent technical oversight is one of the most common reasons founders bring me in — reviewing architecture, estimates, code quality and delivery, so you know what you are paying for.

How does working across time zones work?

Engagements are remote. We agree on overlap hours with your team at the start, and decisions are written down so nothing depends on being in the same meeting.

What happens in a Technology Strategy Session?

We go through your product, current technology, team and the decisions in front of you. You leave with a clear view of the risks and what to do next — whether or not we work together after.

Not sure which engagement fits?

Start with a Technology Strategy Session. We will look at your product, your technology and your risks — and decide together what a useful next step is.
